Young Lenoir Woman Is Killed By Poison

Mildred Coffey's Death Listed As Suicide

Lenoir, May 17--Miss Mildred Coffey, 21, succumbed in a local hospital today after taking poison.

A sister, Mrs. Paul Williams, witnessed the act, which occurred at the home.

Coroner J. R. Swanson and Sheriff Felix Parlier made an investigation, with a verdict of suicide being returned. No reason for the act was given by the family.

Final rites will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at First Methodist church. Burial will be in Belleview cemetery.

The young woman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Coffey of 136 Prospect street and was employed in a local five and 10-cent store. Surviving are her parents, two brothers and six sisters.

Mildred Coffey and Fred Hinst were married. Fred Hinst was born (date unknown).
