Obituary, Dignity Memorial and Teague Funeral Home Charlottesville, VA

Jean Carol (Coffey) Varner, 68, of Crozet, passed away on March 3rd, 2017 following a 5 year battle against cancer. Jean was born on August 19th, 1948, in Waynesboro, VA, to the late Charles L. and Mabel Benson Coffey. Jean was preceded in death by her father Charles L Coffey Sr. Jean is survived by her mother Mabel Benson Coffey, her husband of 46 years, Kenneth E. Varner Sr.; son Kenny Varner and his wife Angie; four grandchildren Hunter, Hannah, Kaitlyn & Ayden; great granddaughter McKenzee Grace; three sisters Mae, Connie, & Barbara, and two brothers Bimmie & Andy; and dear friend Jo Carr. Jean loved our family camping trips and telling her grandchildren stories of her childhood, she had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. My wish is not to have a family night or a funeral. I choose to have the earthly home for my spirit cremated, placed in an urn and taken home. I leave the earth knowing God will in his chosen time give me a new body that will never die. A celebration of her life will be held August 2017 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Piedmont.

A Celebration of Life service was held in August 2017 .

A living couple was married. Living was born in 1949.
