NORTH WILKESBORO - Mrs. Bertie Mae Love, 92, widow of Richard Leonard Love of South Windy Gap Road died Friday afternoon, Jan. 7, 2000, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.

Funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. today, Jan. 9 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dan Frye, the Rev. Dwight Somers, the Rev. Clyde Holloman and the Rev. Johnny Arnold officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Love was born Aug. 22, 1907 in Wilkes County to Arthur P. and Hattie Hester Roberts Coffey. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Claude Love of North Wilkesboro; four daughters, Iris Waynick of McLeansville, Royce Bryant of Burlington, Mary Inscore of North Wilkesboro, Dorothy Jarvis of Hamptonville; two sisters, Wardie Souther of North Wilkesboro, Lona Hemric of Greensboro; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bertie Mae Coffey and Richard Leonard Love were married on 12 August 1925 in Wilkes Co., NC.15485 Richard Leonard Love was born on 23 June 1901 in Wilkes Co., NC. Richard died in Wilkes Co., NC on 1 March 1955 and was buried at Windy Gap, Wilkes Co., NC in March 1955.15486
