We are very sorry to report the death of Mrs. Barney Harding and her baby girl who died last week. The baby died Thursday night and was buried Friday afternoon. The mother died Friday night and the funeral services were held at the Texico-Farwell Baptist church by Rev. Couch Sunday afternoon and interment took place in Texico cemetery. Mrs. Harding was formerly Miss Vela Coffee of near Texico. She was 17 years and 7 months old. She was married to Mr. Barney Harding of this community in March, 1926, and died April 8, 1927. Mrs. Harding will be geatly missed for she was loved by all that knew her. She leaves her husband, father, mother and several brothers and sisters to whom the community extends their heartfelt sympathy.

Vela Beatrice Coffey and Barney Louis Harding were married circa 1925. Barney Louis Harding was born on 4 November 1898. Barney died in Texico, Curry Co., NM on 1 February 1969 and was buried at Texico, Curry Co., NM on 3 February 1969.40932

B. L. HARDING SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held from Texico First Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon for Barney L. Harding, 70, who passed away from an apparent heart attack around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The Rev. Leroy Looper officiated at last rites, assisted by Rev. C. C. Morgan, former pastor of the Texico Church. Burial was at Texico directed by Sherwood Mortuary.

Mr. Harding, a retired rancher and farmer, came to this area, settling near Texico-Farwell in 1909 with his parents, the late Mr. & Mrs. David L. Harding. He was married in March 1929 and since that time had made his home south of Texico-Farwell. He was a member of Texico Baptist Church, a member of Curry County 42 Club, a board member of the Rural Electric Coop and a former member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include the wife, Virgie; a son, James B. of Las Cruces; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bynum, Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren, Titana, Gregory Kent, Eric Lewis Harding, all of Las Cruces, and Ronnie and Donnie Bynum, Spokane, Wash., one brother, N. R. Harding, Farwell; two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Matthews, Farwell, and Mrs. H. H. Carlyle, Muleshoe; and five nephews.

Listed as pallbearers were Olan Schlueter, James Gillian, Edward Engram, James Sutton, John R. Hadley, and Darrell Nowell. All friends of the family are listed as honorary bearers.
