ohn Richard Coffey, born April 8, 1930, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018. Memorial service celebrating John's life will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the American Legion Post 208, 121 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights. John will be buried at the Three Lakes Cemetery in Three Lakes, Wis., with graveside service at a later date. John was an avid fisherman, golfer, bowler and hunter. He belonged to the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Medinah Temple, Scottish Rite, Moose Lodge, NRA and Republican party. John was a veteran and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1949, and the U.S. Air Force in 1955. Son of Farrell Coffey and Lenora (nee Jeffers) Coffey, John was widowed in 2004 by Alice Louise Coffee (nee Ardagh). John is survived by children, Suzanne, Kevin, Shaun and Timothy; and sister, Barbara (the late George) Riley. John was grandfather to Taylor Coffey, Alyssa Hatfield, Landon Hatfield, Emily Coffey, Mitchell Coffey, Madeline Coffey and Chloe Coffey.
