Marlon Coffey

Batesville - Funeral for Marlon Coffey, 56, of Salado, (Independence County), who died Thursday in a hospital here, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Salado Methodist Church. Burial will be in Egner Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home.

A native of Mammoth, Mo., he was formerly employed by the city of Batesville. He was a Methodist and member of the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lou Coffey; two brothers, Walter Coffey of Jonesboro and H. A. Coffey of Springfield, MO.; five sisters, Mrs. Delphia Meade of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Dorothy Mayfield of Bristow, Okla., Mrs. Oma Payne of Colgate, Okla., and Mrs. Dronie Handcock and Mrs. Alta Carr of Tulsa.

Marlon Coffey and Edna Louise "Lou" Garrett were married on 19 September 1932 in Independence Co., AR.35098 They35098 appeared in the census on 27 April 1940 in Salado, Independence Co., AR.35099 Edna Louise "Lou" Garrett, daughter of James Garrett and Margaret E. Nash , was born on 5 August 1901. She lived with her parents at Salado Twp. in Independence Co., AR on 25 April 1930. Edna died in Arkansas on 4 November 1976 and was buried at Egner Cemetery in Salado, Independence Co., AR in November 1976 .35100,35101

Salado - Mrs. Lou Garrett Coffey, 75, of Salado (Independence County), a retired teacher, died Thursday.

Mrs. Coffey was a member of Salado United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Annie Sneed of Newark and Mrs. Verlie Barnell of Little Rock.

Funeral was Saturday at Salado United Methodist Church. Burial was in Agner Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
