John W. Coffey Sr.

Memorial services for John W. Coffey Sr., 52, of 812 E. Albert Ave., Independence, who died Friday in a place crash in Johnson County, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sneil Colonial Chapel; cremation. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.

Mr. Coffey was born in Oil Trough, Ark., and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1948. Mr. Coffey was an electrician's foreman at Armco Inc. He was a Methodist and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Missouri Pilot's Association and the Raytown Optimist Club.

He leaves three sons, Stephen Coffey, Dallas, and John W. Coffey Jr. and Joseph E. Coffey of Independence; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Gurley, Marion, Ark., and Mrs. Kimberly Carey, Independence; four brothers, Elmer Coffey and Edgar Coffey, Farmington, Mo, and Doyle Coffey and Leslie Coffey, Jonesboro, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Lorene Owens and Mrs. Martha Jean Johnson of Jonesboro, Mrs. Ruby Coffey, Black Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Irene Henry, Niles, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.

Apparently, Mrs. Patricia Louise Warren Coffey and husband John W. Coffey were divorced and she remarried at Mr. Schumacher.

Patricia Louise Warren was born on 28 September 1931 in Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO. Patricia died in Missouri on 9 May 2003 and was buried at Independence, Jackson Co., MO on 14 May 2003.45919

Patricia L. Schumacher, 71, Independence, MO, passed away May 9, 2003. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Independence, MO. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church. A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Schumacher was born September 28, 1931, in Kansas City, MO. She was at LPN/OR Tech at Liberty Hospital until her retirement in 1979. Following her retirement, she owned and operated 291 Liquor & Grocery with her son, Joseph. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Pat was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Kimberly Carey. Survivors include sons, Steven M. Coffey, Dallas, TX, John W. Coffey III, MI, son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. and Terri Coffey, Blue Springs, MO; son-in-law, Robert Carey, Independence, MO; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Richard Stoerman, Leawood, KS; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
