CAVE CITY - Oral Marvin Blakey, 78, of Horse Cave died Aug. 7, 1999, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave.

The Russell County native was a World War II Army veteran and a retired weapons inspector for the U.S. government. He was a son of the late William Blakey and Bertha Coffey Blakey.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rippetoe Funeral Home in Russell Springs with burial in Dixon Cemetery. Visitation is in progress today at Bob Hunt Funeral Home and will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rippetoe Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Lyons Blakey; a son, Marvin Lee Blakey of Magnolia; two sisters, Irene Miller and Helen Lawless, both of Russell Springs; and a grandchild.

Oral Marvin Blakey and Oma L. Lawless were married. Oma L. Lawless was born on 17 January 1912. Oma died in Kentucky on 1 August 1970. Dixon Cemetery in Old Olga, Russell Co., KY in August 1970 .40507
