The funeral for Willodean Page Marbut, 89, of Athens is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Salem Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Kip McKee and Heath Haney officiating. Viewing time is 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Marbut died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at home.

She was born May 19, 1926, in Limestone County, to Elbert L. Page and Ida Chapman Page. Mrs. Marbut was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing and making a garden. She was a member of Salem Springs Baptist Church. She received her GED in 1986 at age 60.

Mrs. Marbut was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert L. Page; sister, Emma Jean Jostworth; and son-in-law, Griggs Rose.

Survivors include her son, Lyndon Marbut of Minor Hill, Tennessee; four daughters, Marie King and husband Dave of Decatur, Joyce Rose of Elkmont, Brenda McMasters and husband Dan of Minor Hill, and Diane Jackson and husband Dickie of Anderson; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Salem Springs Baptist Church or favorite charity.
