Mr. Fred James Coffey, 30, South Way Co. Trucking Co. employee, died March 29, 1991, at Frye Regional Medical Cemter. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Winklers Grove Baptist Church. Bass-Smith Funeral hime is in charge.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce; son, Daniel Coffey; sisters, Mrs. Irene Bragg, Mrs. Reba McKee, Mrs. Rachel Bishop; stepson,Jeffrey Meadows; stepdaughter, Miss Ashley Meadows.

Daniel James Coffey was born on 16 July 1989 in Catawba Co., NC. Daniel died at Valdese General Hospital in Valdese, Burke Co., NC on 12 September 2019 and a memorial service was helo In Hickory, Catawba Co., NC at Mt. Carmel Baotist Church on 15 September 2019.

Obituary for Daniel James Coffey

Mr. Daniel James Coffey, age 30, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Valdese Hospital.

Born July 16, 1989 in Catawba County, Daniel was a son of Joy Coffey Childers and the late Fred James Coffey. Daniel had a love of music and enjoyed playing guitar, banjo and singing. Daniel was very artistic and loved drawing. He will be remembered for making people laugh. One of the things he enjoyed most was spending time with kids, especially his nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Daniel was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred Jones and Mary Jane Coffey; a nephew, “Little Mac”.

Survivors include his mom and hero, whom he loved dearly, Joy Coffey Childers (Darrell Johnson); his children, Reyd Coffey, Julianna Burnette and Elias Newton; his siblings, Ashley Smith (husband Jason), Jeff Meadows (wife Jamie), Julie Childers, Stephanie Miller (husband ID), Jared Childers (wife April) and Savannah Childers; his nieces and nephews, Destiny, Dakota, Braelyn, Khloey, Emalee, McKenzee, Carleigh, Ian, Creek, Brantlee, Jaylin, Joseph and Jeremiah; his maternal grandparents, Ronald Smith (wife Joyce) and Judy Tolbert (husband Ralph); he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A memorial service celebrating Daniel’s life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 4:00 PM with Pastor Clyde Bumgarner, Tim Thompson and Robert Helton officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
