Rufus Cottrell, 76, Tuscumbia, died Feb. 4, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

He was born June 9, 1925, in Meta, a son of Ed and Nellie Clark Cottrell. He was married in 1979 to Thelma Opland, who survives.

He worked at a saw mill and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: one son, Steve Cottrell, Eldon; four daughters, Marilyn Conway, Kansas City, Shelia Dennis, Grandview, Janet McGowan, Crocker, and Jeanne Carrall, Shawnee, Kan.; one brother, Wayne Cottrell, Ft. Smith, Ark.; two sisters, Thelma Thompson, Rolla, and Bonnie Johnson, Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Inurnment will be in the Rodden [sic] Cemetery in Brumley.

Claudy Rufus Cottrell and Rosemary Luttrell were married on 15 July 1949 in Davenport, Scott Co., IA.32197 Rosemary Luttrell, daughter of Milton Luttrell and Opal Duncan, was born on 14 February 1933 in Brumley, Miller Co., MO. Rosemary died at and was buried at in Olean, Miller Co., MO on 9 March 2016. Robinett Cemetery in Brumley, Miller Co., MO on 12 March 2016 .32198

Rosemary “Curly” Douglas, age 83, of Olean, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her home. She was born in Brumley on February 14, 1933, daughter of the late Milton and Opal (Duncan) Luttrell. On June 27, 1965, in Independence, Rosemary married Kenneth “Buck” Douglas, who survives at the home.

In addition to her husband Buck Douglas, she is also survived by one son, Kevin Douglas and wife Susan of Eldon; four daughters, Marilyn Conway and husband Tom of Kansas City, Shelia Dennis and husband George of Grandview, Janet McGowan and husband Terry of Crocker, and Jeanne Carrall of Lenexa, KS; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Dorlas Gilliam, Lois Pemberton, Shirley Smith, Patsy Rodden and Karen Barnett.

She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Cottrell; one grandson, Jeremy Engelmohr; and three sisters, Bonnie Smith, Alice Wooldridge, and Joyce Luttrell.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at noon, on Saturday, March 12, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Chaplain Bart Larson will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at Robinett Cemetery near Brumley at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or Robinett Cemetery.

Stephen Ray Cottrell, 61, of Eldon, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach.

Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Rosemary and Kenneth Douglas of Olean; son, Tracy Cottrell of Eldon; daughter, Tricia Blankenship of High Point; son, Stephen Cottrell of Eldon; son, Dustin Cottrell of St. Augustine, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Ninth Street Christian Church of Eldon. His body has been cremated and private interment will be at Robinett Cemetery, Brumley, at a later date.
