Lois Imogene Smith Cantrell, 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 after an extended illness at the Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, OK. She was born on January 5, 1922 inEmpire City, OK to Charles and Bertha (Denham) Murtishaw. Lois married Sidney Denham Smith on July 13, 1940 in Norman, OK. He preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Roy Cantrell on January 8, 1982 in Gainsville, TX. He preceded her in death in 2003. Lois lived in the Oklahoma City area most of her live and was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many of the entertainment outfits worn by the country singer Hank Thompson. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge and the Eastern Star. Lois and her husbands loved to travel. Her travels took her from coast to coast, north to Alaska, and to the Caribbean. Lois was a member of the Hydro Methodist Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Peggy Smith, Carnegie, OK; one son-in-law, Carl Boyd Stapp, Okla. City, OK; five grandchildren, Sadina, Shonda, John D., Kristen and D'Anna; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husbands, two daughters, LaJuana and Lavanna, one son, David, two brothers, Lillus and Bill, three sisters, Rosemary, Charlene and Ginger. Memorial Services 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2010, Meridian Ave-nue Baptist Church, 1421 N. Meridian, Okla. City, OK. Officiating Carlin Lawrence, Mike Lawson. Interment Sunny Lane Cemetery, Okla. City, OK. Services under the direction of Carnegie Pitcher Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
