"Mary Ann was married to a Mr. J.M. Glass Dec. 25, 1907 (Glass Lake in Omaha, Tx.). They divorced and her last marriage was to Dr. W. C. Ledbetter. She was his 3rd wife and theirs was a rocky marriage according to his grandson.

When he died in 1950 Mary had to sue his 1st wife for part of the estate as he left her nothing. Mary got widow's rights to the house and a small settlement. I have returned Dr. Ledbetter's doctor's bag to Vaughn as it belongs to his family, not mine." Vaughn (Joan) Sims, 212 Santa Rosa Ct., Madison, MS 39110 (601-898-774) (phroef@@worldnet.att.net).

We spent several Thanksgivings at Aunt Mary's home in Bristol, Tx. It is there that I (Teri V. Bell Stanek) first had "Carrot Bread". When Aunt Mary passed away I went with Mama Skeet (Vanita) and other family members to clean out her home. I was asked what I wanted and I took a glass dresser tray with glass beads (which I still have on my dresser) and her deceased husband's (Dr. W. C. Ledbetter of Bristol, Tx., who died in 1950) black medical bag. My memory of Aunt Mary and Aunt Leeves is that they were always together, always dressed-up and they gave me a nickle. (They were actually my "Great" Aunts)
