Woodson Coffee Jr.

DUMAS - Woodson Coffee Jr., 89, died Saturday.

Services are pending at Morrison Funeral Directors.

Born in Throckmorton County, Mr. Coffee had lived in Dumas since 1960, moving here from Amarillo. He lived in Silverton for 30 years before moving to Amarillo. He was a retired farmer who served as Briscoe County judge from 1933 to 1943 and was an implement dealer in Silverton from 1943 to 1954.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Silverton Masonic Lodge 854, and a member of the Scottish Rite, The El Paso Conestoga, and the Khiva Temple.

He was preceded in death June [sic] by his wife, Ida Mae "Mamie" Coffee.

Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Brannon of Dumas; a sister, Mrs. Edgar Coble of Amarillo; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.

The family requests memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Rance or to a favorite charity.

Last Rites For Ida Mae Coffee

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae "Mamie" Coffee, 90, of Dumas were held Tuesday morning in First United Methodist Church in Dumas.

Mrs. Coffee, who was born in Truxton, Mo., died Saturday in Memorial Hospital in Dumas.

Prior to moving to Dumas, Mrs. Coffee lived in Amarillo and spent some 30 years in Silverton. Mamie Begeman [sic] arrived in Miami in 1915. She was working in the Post Office in Miami when she met Woodson Coffey, Jr. whom she married June 10, 1916. They lived in and near Miami until late 1916.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a life-time member of United Methodist Women.

Survivors are her husband, Woodson Coffee; a daughter, Evelyn Brannon of Dumas, a grandson and two great-grandsons.

Services were held in the First United Methodist Church in Dumas with burial in Lano Cemetery in Amarillo.
