McGinnis, Asa Loyd - age 78, of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday night at Oak Ridge Hospital. Member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors: wife, Kate McGinnis; sons, Roger L. McGinnis, Ray McGinnis, both of Oak Ridge; daughter, Mrs. William (Ariel) Minor, of Oak Ridge; brothers, E. T. McGinnis, Oak Ridge, L.L. McGinnis, J.C. McGinnis, Grainger County, Tenn.; sister, Mrs. Morgan Coffey, Morristown; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service 11 p.m. Monday at Weatherford Chapel, Dr. Don Long and Rev. L. Gale Lyon officiating. Interment at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

Roger Lee McGinnis, 74, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a short illness.

Mr. McGinnis was born July 2, 1926, in Grainger County, the son of Lloyd and Kate Coffey McGinnis.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he moved to Oak Ridge to work for Union Carbide Nuclear Division at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. He retired in 1984.

Mr. McGinnis was a member of Central Baptist Church and active with the Caring Center and other church ministries. He also participated in Meals on Wheels.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, traveling and meeting people, his family said.

Mr. McGinnis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Reba Monteith McGinnis; his daughters, Pat Weeks and her husband, J.W., and Nancy Southern and her husband, Robert, all of Oak Ridge; his sister, Arial Minor of Oak Ridge; and his brother, Ray McGinnis and his wife, Pat, of Oak Ridge.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley Southern, a student at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Kara Weeks, a student at Oak Ridge High School, and Kelly Weeks, a student at Woodland Elementary School; and by his uncle, Thomas McGinnis, and several cousins in the Morristown area.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary. The Rev. David McPherson and the Rev. Bob Gray will officiate.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.

The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Central Baptist Church, 130 Providence Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Clifton Ray McGinnis, age 84, of Knoxville and formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Park west Medical Center.

He was born July 22, 1929 in Thorn Hill, Tenn., the son of Sally Kate Coffey and Lloyd McGinnis.

Mr. McGinnis retired after 35-plus years from the Y-12 plant, where he was a Standards Lab Manager. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and met regularly with his friends at the Wednesday Morning Breakfast. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing antique furniture and playing golf. He enjoyed helping others and always extended a helping hand when the need was there.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Martha Belle Honeycutt McGinnis, Aug. 24, 1996; daughter, Janice Connelly, brother, Roger McGinnis; sister, Arial Minor; niece, Nancy Southern; and step-granddaughter, Micah Keathley.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sylvia Keathley McGinnis, with whom he would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on April 3. He is also survived by son, James (Laura) McGinnis of Pueblo, Colo.; stepson, Darrell (Angela) Keathley of Knoxville; grandchildren, Amy (Frank Howard) McGinnis of Denver, Colo., and their children, Makena and Ellia, Colleen McGinnis of Birmingham, Ala., Alex McGinnis, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Japan, Stephen Connelly and Robin (Mike) Gaus, all of Oak Ridge; step grandchildren, Alec Keathley and Graham Keathley, both of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jessica and James Gaus; special sisters-in-law, Reba McGinnis and Maude Simmons; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church.

The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn Ellis officiating. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens for a graveside service.

The family asks that any memorials be made to St.

Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Central Baptist Church.

Arial Annette McGinnis Minor, age 76, of Oak Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2011, with family by her side. Arial was a very loving wife, mother and Christian.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1934, in Grainger County, Tenn., the daughter of Asa Lloyd McGinnis and Sally Kate Coffee McGinnis. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1953. Arial met her future husband, William Frederick Minor in high school, and they were married April 15, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Arial was a music-loving person who played piano every night as her children fell asleep to her melodies. Her children are W. Michael Minor of Oak Ridge; Victoria Ann Minor Wallace and husband, John Wallace, and their son, Matthew Wallace, of Oak Ridge; Neil Frederick Minor and wife, Stacey Minor, and their children, Nicholas, Nathan and Sydney. Arial also leaves behind her brother, Ray McGinnis, and wife Pat, and sister-in-law, Reba McGinnis. Her other brother Roger McGinnis preceded her in death in 2000.

Throughout the '70s and '80s, Arial worked at The Oak Ridger newspaper in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

After retiring, she spent much time enjoying life with friends.

She will be well remembered as an active and loving member of Robertsville Baptist Church, where she was a featured soloist, pianist and faithful choir member.

Arial seldom met a stranger, and had an energetic presence and spirit that was joyful and playful.

She will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. A Memorial Service will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Scott and Dr. Michael Prince officiating.
