Stonington - Mary Alie Shewmaker, 69, of Stonington died Wednesday at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.

Survivors: husband, Robert; daughter, Mrs. Dave (Vickie) Busby of Stonington; three grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Coffey of Taylorville, Leon Coffey of Stonington nd Leland Coffey of LaMasa [sic] Calif; four sisters, twin Helen Porter of Taylorville, Lois DeVore of Stonington, Maxine Erwin of Glendale, Ariz., and Lillian Boldini of Stonington.

Robert W. Shewmaker, 90 of Stonington passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:20 a.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville. He was born on February 15, 1926 in Moweaqua, Ill. the son of Pete and Hadgie (Royalty) Shewmaker. He married Mary Coffey on November 27, 1949 in Stonington, Ill. and she later preceded him in death. Robert retired form Mueller in Decatur where he worked in the test lab. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of VFW Post #4495, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the Stonington American Legion Post #257. Surviving are his daughter: Vickie (David) Busby of Stonington, Ill.; grandchildren: Clint Shewmaker of Normal, Ill.; Sarah Beth (Raymond) Gray of North Pole, AK; Jacob Busby of Stonington, Ill.; great-granddaughter: Molly Gray; daughter-in-Law: Carol Shewmaker White of Stonington, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother: Horace Shewmaker, son: Chuck Shewmaker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Sr. Rose McKeown officiating. Burial will be held in Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington, Ill. with military graveside honors. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
