Survivors, sons, Buddy Atkins of Florida; Billy Hugh, and Steve Atkins of Morristown; John Atkins of Rutledge; Frank Atkins of Thorn Hill; daughters, Mrs. Jim (Sue) Lowery of Russellville; Mrs. Terrell (Sarah) Metcalf of Dandridge; Mrs. Jerry (Carolyn) Hixon of Bean Station; Mrs. Virgil (Karen) Bowser, Bean Station; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Brother, Charlie Jeff Coffey of Ohio; sister, Velva Dalton of Thorn Hill. Funeral services at Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Rutledge with Elder John Oliver and Rev. Gary Satterfield officiating. Burial in Davidson Cemetery of Thorn Hill.
