6690. Victor Lee "Dick" Coffey2502 was born on 7 August 1893 in Talala, Rogers Co., Indian Territory. He registered for the WWI draft on 5 June 1917 in Humboldt Co., CA.22183 He lived with his mother in Eureka, Humboldt Co., CA on 12 January 1920. Victor was enumerated in 1920 as a married man but, his wife was not present in the household. He 22184 Dick and Margaret were longtime restaurant owners in Denver.  They retired in 1947 but apparently continued to buy and sell property in the area.  In one instance they sold property and claimed profits were a result of capital gains but were taxed as ordinary income. They filed a lawsuit against the US Government and lost.  They filed an appeal at Denver, Denver Co.,CO on Aug. 19, 1964 in the US 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and lost again. Dick died on 27 December 1970 at the age of 77 in Denver, Denver Co., CO and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Golden, Jefferson Co., CO.

Victor Lee "Dick" Coffey and Margaret H. Nevin were married. They appeared in the census on 5 April 1930 at 4967 Lowell Blvd. in Denver, Denver Co., CO.22185 They22185 appeared in the census on 11 April 1940 at 4851 Perry St. in Denver, Denver Co., CO.22186 Margaret H. Nevin22187 was born in May 1895 in California.

Victor Lee Coffey Jr.22164 was born on 2 May 1922 in Saline Co., KS. Victor died in Denver, Denver Co., CO on 22 June 2008 and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Jefferson Co., CO on 23 June 2008 .22189,22190

The family will receive friends Sunday 2 PM, concluding with the Rosary at 4 PM; Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Blvd. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 AM, St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2771, Zenobia Street; Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to St. Mary Magdalene Church, Denver, 80212.
