He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Okle [sic] May Coffey, and by three daughters and five sons - Mrs. Ilith Whittle, Russell Springs, Mrs. Imogene Cain, Nancy, Ky., Jennie Lou Coffey, Ed T. Coffey, Jimmy Coffey, Donnie Coffey, Paul Coffey, and Douglas Coffey, all of Russell Springs. He also leaves his aged mother, Mrs. Arvella [sic] Gosser Coffey, and one brother, Finley Coffay [sic], Russell Springs, as well as thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral is to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1 p. m. in the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Ministers officiating will be Rev. Monroe Robertson, and Rev. Roscoe Stringr, and buriel will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cassius Clay Coffey and Mary Talitha Taylor were married. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cassius Clay Coffey, one daughter, one granddaughter, five half brothers, two half sisters, one sister, four brothers, and one great granddaughter. Survivors include six children Imogene Cain of Nancy, Jenny Lou Hart, Rev. Donnie Coffey, Paul E. Coffey, Jimmy Clay Coffey all of Russell Springs and Doug Coffey of Atlanta, GA, two step children, Ed. T. Coffey and Lillith Whittle, both of Russell Springs; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and nine step grandchildren. Funeral services were heldd on Saturday, August 8,1998, at 10:00 a.m. at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel in Russell Springs with Bro. Monroe Robertson officiating. Special music was by Lonzo Smith, Joyce Stephens, Tracy Popplewell, and Patience Smith. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell Springs. Pallbearers were: Lance Coffey, Clint Hart, Troy Coffey, Tyler Coffey, Gary Godby, and Michael Richardson. Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
