Roanoke - Funeral services for Mrs. Paul H. Coffey, who died suddenly at her home here Monday of a heart attach, were held Wednesday, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving are her husband; two children, Nancy Lee and Paul Jr.; her mother, Mrs. W. H. Wagner, and three brothers, James E., William S. and Morton D. Wagner, all of Bluefield, W. Va.

Nancy Lee Coffey, age 61, of Roanoke, died at her home Thursday morning. She was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had been a teacher in the Nursery Department for 38 years. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and had attended Madison College. She had served as secretary of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was retired from Dominion Bank with 35 years service. Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Paul H. Coffey, Jr. and Nell Lewis Coffey, Lynchburg; three nieces, Mary W. Coffey, Richmond; Anne L. Coffey, and Ellen D. Coffey, both of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be conducted at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday by Dr. Jerry O. Campbell. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Greene Memorial United Methodist Church Elevator Fund, P.O. Box 1305, Roanoke, Va. 24007. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday.

COFFEY, Paul Huber, (Junior), of Lynchburg, Virginia, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 while hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia. He was president of Poplar Forest Settlement Services in Forest, Virginia following his retirement as a partner from the law firm of Edmunds & Williams, P.C. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Additionally, Mr. Coffey served the City of Lynchburg as an Assistant Judge for the General District Court many years ago. Mr. Coffey was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church and an active member of the church's Vestry. He was a member of the Boonsboro Country Club and served on the club's Board of Directors. Throughout his career, Mr. Coffey was a member of a number of Boards of Directors and held partnerships in several business ventures. He also served in the Reserves of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Coffey received his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and his law degree from Washington and Lee University. He was a member of the Virginia Bar Association. Mr. Coffey, born in Roanoke, Virginia, was the son of Paul Huber Coffey and Mary Lee Wagner Coffey. Widower of Nell Lewis Coffey, he is survived by his daughters, Mary Wagner Coffey, Anne Moss Hatcher, and Ellen Coffey Kostel; three grandsons, Charles Callaway Moss, Roland Lewis Hatcher, and Peyton Chaney Kostel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the St. John's Episcopal Church Capital Campaign Fund or the American Cancer Society. A service will be held Thursday, March 22, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. A reception will be held directly following the service in the church parish hall.
