Mrs. Rosie Taylor Coffey, 58, died at her home near Lyndhurst, Saturday at 9 p.m. She was a native of Nelson County, the daughter of Martha Jane and William Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest, and ten children: seven sons Hubert, Gilbert, Willie, Perry, Wilson Earl and David, and three daughters, Nellie, Mary and Polly; one sister, Mrs. Emma Taylor, and two brothers, Henry and Tate Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Springdale Mennonite Church, Rev. Joe Driver in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Remains will be in the church cemetery. Remains are at her home where they will be until the hour for the service.

Herbert Less Coffey was born in 1909 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA. He lived with his parents in South River Dist., Augusta Co., VA on 29 April 1930. Herbert died in 1969 at the age of 60 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Springdale Mennonite Church Cemetery in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.14764

Herbert L. Coffey, 62, of Lyndhurst died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday at Waynesboro Community Hospital.
He was born on April 20, 1906, in Augusta County, a son of the late Ernest R. and Rosie Taylor Coffey. He was a farmer and a member of the Springdale Mennonite Church in Augusta County.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Polly See of Waynesboro, Mrs. H. S. (Nellie) Clark of Stuarts Draft, and Mrs. Mary Hartless of Route 1, Waynesboro; five brothers, Gilbert Coffey of Lyndhurst, and Perry Coffey, Davis Lee Coffey and Wilson Coffey, all of Waynesboro, and Earl D. Coffey of Stuarts Draft; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Springdale Mennonite Church, conducted by the Rev. Harold Stoltzfus and the Rev. Wayne Lawton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home until an hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Brookman, T. O. Tench, Earl D. Snead, Daniel Strickler, Harold Fitzgerald, A. F. Weaver, Hayes W. See and Robert Hartman.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m.

Railroad retiree Stuarts Draft - Earl Drummond Coffey, 82, of 36 Gloucester Road, passed away Tuesday, (Dec. 30, 2003), at his residence. He was born April 2, 1921, in Augusta County, a son of the late Ernest and Rose Taylor Coffey. Mr. Coffey retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad and had a love for trains. He attended Springdale Mennonite Church. He had unconditional love for his family and was a great father, husband, father-in-law and grandfather who never met a stranger. A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Springdale Mennonite Church by the Rev. Kathy Wenger and assisted by the Rev. James Chappell with burial following at the White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
