1068. Ebin Cleveland Coffee4260 was born in March 1826 in Wayne Co., KY. Ebin died on 14 July 1905 at the age of 79 in Comanche Co., TX and was buried at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown Co., TX.4261

We find our branch of the Coffey tree on page 48, "THE COFFEYS OF WAYNE COUNTY" an excellent history, written by Jacqueline Coffey Sexton.

It is difficult to assume that our Ebin Cleveland Coffee in the Jones/Coffee bible is T. Cleveland Coffey from Wayne county Kentucky.

Since Cleveland and Jackson Coffey were offsprings of a broken marriage, it is necessary to associate them with the Crisp family, and trace their movement to Texas.

Ebin Cleveland Coffee and Elizabeth Farmer4262,4263 were married on 7 August 1845 in Wayne Co., KY.4261,4264 They4261,4264 appeared in the census on 2 June 1880 in Hopkins Co., TX.4265

From Eben Hugh Jones, grandson of Cleveland: "In the yeare of 1884 Nov 8th my father mother & grand Father & grand Mother & 3 uncles & there familys & som nabors left Hunt Co Tx there wear 13 wagons in all 12 yok of oxens 1 horse team. Theay came to Desemona then it was call Hogtown There my grandmother Coffee died. She was burried at hogtown then we all left went to Mason Co. Staid a Short time & left there. Went to Burnet Co Tx staid there 3 months then went Back to Commanche Co. and grandfather and one uncle Baught land & sitle down and staid thre dith(?) whitch was in 1898 gran Father died in Brown Co. & was layed awy in Brownwood cemeteary" [Elizabeth Farmer Coffee b 1825 and d 10 Dec 1885 in Desdemona, Eastland Co., TX.]

Eban may have been in Van Zandt Co., TX in 1861 because William Crisp is on the tax rolls there from 1860-1865. [Kenneth Coffee]

Eban registered in Martin's Confederate Regiment, Texas Cavalry on August 28, 1862 at Greenville, Texas - assigned to Ft. Washita, Indian Territory for a period of 3 years. [Kenneth Coffee]
Elizabeth Farmer was born in 1825 in Tennessee or North Carolina. Elizabeth died on 10 December 1885 at the age of 60 in Eastland Co., TX and was buried at Desdemona Cemetery in Desdemona, Eastland Co., TX.

Ebin Cleveland Coffee and Frances Virginia Jones were married on 11 October 1886. They appeared in the census on 21 June 1900 in Comanche Co., TX.4266 Frances Virginia Jones, daughter of Littleton Jones and Dorcas Natts, was born in September 1845 in Alabama. Frances died of natural causes on 13 March 1933 at the age of 87 in Beattie, Comanche Co., TX and was buried at Taylors Chapel Cemetery in Beattie, Comanche Co., TX on 14 March 1933.4267
