Mrs. Nora L. Bocock

Staunton - In failing health for several years, Mrs. Nora L. Bocock, 68, died at her home near Stuarts Draft Monday morning. She was a native of Augusta County, a daughter of E. F. and Sarah Smith Coffey.

Surviving are two sons, Frank, at home, and Dr. Allan Bocock of Gallinger Hospital, Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Bocock and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown of Huntington, W. Va., Miss Pearl Coffey and Mrs. J. N. Foster of Stuarts Draft.

Mrs. Bocock for 30 years was a teacher in the Augusta County public school system and had taught earlier in life in Indiana schools, in New Mexico and Nevada. The funeral will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Stuarts Draft.

Nora Kate Coffey and John William Bocock were married. On 22 February 1867. John died in Greenville, Augusta Co., VA on 2 April 1941 and was buried at Calvary UMC Cemetery in Stuarts Draft, Augusta Co., VA in April 1941 .13202

STAUNTON-John Frank Bocock, 75, farmer, cattle dealer and retired auctioneer, died at 12 noon yesterday at his home on Route 2 after being in failing health for two years.

He was born Dec. 9, 1897, at Stuarts Draft and had lived his entire life in Augusta County.

Mr. Bocock was the principal owner of Rockingham Livestock Sales, Inc., of Harrisonburg and a member of the Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.

He is survived by a nephew, Allen Bocock Jr., of Washington, D. C.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Calvary Methodist Church cemetery near Stuarts Draft, conducted by the Rev. Judson Baldwin.
Active pallbearers will be: Sherwood Desper, Jimmy Chambers, Herby Eavers, Jakie Kyger, George Heatwole, David Bocock, Charles Furr and Ben Howell Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Harry Moffett, Bud Robertson, Junie Johnson, John H. Sprouse, Jean Moats, Bud Johnson, Floyd Armentrout, George Clark, Jesse W. Yount, Abner Weaver, Fred Reid and Guy Boyd.

Pallbearers are requested to be at the cemetery at 1:45.

The body will remain at the Bear Funeral Home in Churchville.
