1922. DDS Louis McWill Coffey was born on 27 April 1874 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.5126 He lived with his parents in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC on 15 June 1900. He registered for the WWI draft on 17 September 1918 in Lincoln Co., NC.7262 Louis died of acute respiratory arrest on 23 October 1960 at the age of 86 at Crowell Hospital in Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC and was buried at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC.7263,7264

Caldwell Native Buried Today

Funeral Services for Dr. L. M. Coffey, 86, retired Lincolnton dentist and a native of Caldwell county, were conducted at Warlick Funeral Home chapel at Lincolnton this afternoon. He had been a dentist in Lincolnton for more than 50 years.

A member of an early Caldwell county family, he was the son of Thomas and Rachel Coffey. His father operated the toll gate on the Lenoir - Blowing Rock road for many years.

He passed away on Sunday night. His widow, Mrs. Annie Coffey survives.

Nephews serving as pallbearers were Clarence P. Coffey, Collett Coffey, Bill Martin, James Mills, and Louis and Carl Wellborn.

In addition to the pallbearers local nephews and nieces are Mrs. Bill Martin, Mrs. T. Hamp Robbins, Mrs. Hugh Edmisten, Mrs. James Mills, Earl J. Austin and Ed Austin.

DDS Louis McWill Coffey and Annie Daniel Pernell were married circa 1904. She lived with her parents in Eastville, Northhampton Co., VA on 8 June 1900. Annie died of a myocardial infarction following hip surgery on 23 December 1964 at the age of 90 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC and was buried at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC on 24 December 1964.7269

Services Held For Mrs. Annie Coffey

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Coffey, 90, aunt of Clarence P. Coffey and others of the Lenoir area, were conducted at Warlick Funeral Home Chapel in Lincolnton at two o'clock this afternoon. Interment was in Hollybrook cemetery there.

She passed away at Bowman-Gray Hospital at Winston-Salem on Wednesday. She was the widow of Dr. L. M. Coffey, pioneer Lincolnton dentist who passed away about two years ago. Dr. Coffey was a brother of James L. Coffey, late father of Clarence P. Coffey, Lenoir architect.

Other nephews and nieces here include Mrs. Hugh Edmiston and Mrs. T. Hamp Robbins.

Mrs. Annie Coffey, 90, Lincolnton, Succumbs

Lincolnton - Mrs. Annie Coffey, 90, died Wednesday night in Bowman-Gray hospital, Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Coffey was the widow of Dr. L. M. Coffey, pioneer Lincolnton dentist.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Warlick Funeral Home chapel here, with burial to follow in Hollybrook cemetery.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
