Woman, 73, Found Dead In Yard

Lenoir, Jan. 18 - The body of Mrs. Luna Maggie Cozart, 73, was found lying near her home here early today. She was found in the front yard next door to her home by a pedestrian.

Caldwell County Coroner Paul Moss ruled her death resulted from exposure.

According to police she apparently came out of the house sometime during the night and fell on the snow and ice and died.

Police said she lived alone as was last seen at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

A retired employee of Moore Cotton Mill, she was a member of Blair's Fork Baptist Church and a native of Caldwell County.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Greer Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. L. A. Miller. Burial will be in Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence and Wallace, both of Lenoir; two sisters, Mrs. C. L. Turnmire of Lenoir, Mrs. L. A. Childress of Morganton; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
