Neither Albert nor LaVerne married. Both were Polio victims in childhood. Albert had a leg amputated in early childhood due to a staph infection and gangrene. The surgeon was Robert Calvin Coffey, MD, Portland, OR. He was a distant great uncle. Albert worked as a linotype operator in Grand Coulee, WA and later was a professional photographer in San Jose, CA. Vern worked as a neon sign maker in Idaho Falls, ID.

Charles Calvin earned his doctorate at the University of Washington in 1954 and later served as chairman of the Department of Education and Administration at San Jose State University. Pearl Lois Jaynes, daughter of Charles Jaynes and Janie Wise, was born about 1901 in North Carolina. Pearl died in Washington State about 1951.
