Hardin died at Rt. 9, Kelly Road (home) in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC on 29 July 1967 of a cerebral hemorrhage and was buried at Asbury UMC Church Cemetery in Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC on 30 July 1967 .17173

Haywood Suddreth

Haywood Mason “Woodie” Suddreth, 87, of Calico Road, Lenoir, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Caldwell County to the late Hardie and Alice Coffey Suddreth.

Mr. Suddreth was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Gamewell United Methodist Church for 76 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran where he flew a P51 Mustang Aircraft and was honorably discharged in 1945. He also served 60 years in the American Legion of Lenoir.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Hill Suddreth and wife Kathleen of Hickory; one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Throneburg and husband Charles Hope of Morganton; nephews, Lane Throneburg of Morganton, John Throneburg and wife Peggy of Lenoir, and Mark Suddreth and wife Tasha of Granite Falls; great-nieces and nephews, Casey Throneburg, Jenna Throneburg and Jon Suddreth; special nieces and nephews of Charlotte; and many special friends of Lenoir.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Gamewell United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Renee Easter. Interment will follow at Littlejohn United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Suddreth Throneburg, age 90, of Throneburg Road, Morganton, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born November 30, 1923 in Caldwell County to the late Hardin Corpening Suddreth and Nancy Alice Coffey Suddreth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hope Throneburg; and one brother, Haywood "Woodie" Suddreth. 

Mrs. Throneburg was a homemaker and an Avon Representative. She was a member of Gamewell United Methodist Church for 81 years. 

Survivors include two sons, Charles Lane Throneburg and fiancée Nancy Brittain of Morganton and John W. Throneburg and wife Peggy of Granite Falls; one brother, Robert Hill Suddreth of Hickory; and two grandchildren, Jon Casey Throneburg and Jenna D. Throneburg. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Gamewell United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Alice Day. Interment will follow at Littlejohn's United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Robert Hill Suddreth was born on 19 December 1927 in Caldwell Co., NC. Robert died in Hudson, Caldwell Co., NC on 16 January 2020 and was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory, Catawba Co., NC on 20 January 2020 .17177

Robert Hill Suddreth, 92, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson.

Born December 19, 1927 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Hardin and Alice Coffey Suddreth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Davis Suddreth; a brother, Haywood (Woodie) Suddreth; and a sister, Mary Throneburg.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had retired after 33 years of service from General Electric. He was active in the Civitan Club and was an avid car collector.

He is survived by his son, Mark Suddreth and wife Tasha of Granite Falls; grandson, Jon Suddreth of Key West, FL; special friend, Beulah Bolick of Hickory; and two nephews: John Throneburg and wife Peggy of Granite Falls, and Lane Throneburg of Morganton.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory with the Rev. Dr. Andrew Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 19, 2020 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory.
