Irene Hartley

Mrs. Irene Coffey Hartley, of Brockford Inn Assisted Living, died Sunday morning.

Mrs. Hartley was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Caldwell County to the late Finley Houck Coffey and Effie Turnmire Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edgar Hartley; six brothers, Vilas, Clyde, Ernest, Hal, Cloyd and Lloyd Coffey; and two sisters, Coline Coffey and Blanche Coffey McGee.

She wasa retired hosiery seamstress and was a member of East Flat Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Lois Coffey of Lenoir; a sister-in-law, Rachel Coffey of Lenoir; brothers-in-law, James Hartley and wife Marie of Lenoir, Cecil Hartley and wife Mary of Lenoir. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Hartley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. Randy Gibson officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Coffey, Larry Coffey, Douglas Hartley and Richard Spears.
