Garon "Punk" Coffey, 84, of the Keltner community, died Friday, April 18, 1997 at 5 p.m. at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville.

He was the son of the late Cassius and Ina Coomer Coffey and a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Rogers Coffey in 1992.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie Coffey of Keltner; three daughters, Linda Young of Burkesville; Marilyn Henderson of Danville and Brenda Keltner of Milltown; four brothers, Raymond Coffey of Columbia, Clavis Coffey of Gradyville, Elroy Coffey and Ural Coffey both of Keltner; three sisters, Charity Edwards, Margie Corbin and Pearl Bennett all of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Sunday, April 20, 1997 at 3:30 p.m. at Grisson Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Humphrey, Rev. John Blakey and Rev. Herbert Janes officiating.

Burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

"Punk" Coffey and Bertha Lee Rogers were married on 22 December 1934 at Columbia Baptist in Columbia, Adair Co., KY.⁴⁰³⁸⁴ They⁴⁰³⁸⁴ appeared in the census on 29 April 1940 in Adair Co., KY.⁴⁰³⁸⁵ Bertha Lee Rogers, daughter of C. P Rogers and Callie R. , was born on 15 February 1916 in Kentucky. Bertha died in Keltner, Adair Co., KY on 28 November 1992 and was buried at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Columbia, Adair Co., KY on 30 November 1992 .⁴⁰³⁸⁶
