10683. Hilda Fern Coffey was born on 2 August 1921 in Macks Creek, Camden Co., MO. Hilda died in Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS on 6 January 2008 and was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS in January 2008 .31384

Hilda Fern Adams, 86, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Max Creek, Mo., the daughter of Leslie and Della Coffey. She was a resident of Lawrence for 47 years.

Mrs. Adams worked for Sears in retail. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.

She married Leroy Adams on April 20, 1949, in Fort Scott. He died Feb. 16, 2007. 

Mrs. Adams also was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann Smith; three brothers, Donald, Dwight and Dale; and two sisters, Freda and Jean.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Mock, Springfield, Mo.; and two grandsons, Dustin Smith and Devon DeShazo. 

Hilda Fern Coffey and Leroy D. Adams were married on 20 April 1949 in Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS. Leroy D. Adams, son of Tom Adams and Jessie Skinner, was born on 21 October 1919 in Nevada, Vernon Co., MO. Leroy enlisted in the US Army National Guard on 16 September 1940 at Clark Co., NV.31385 He was discharged on 19 October 1945 at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO31386 Leroy died in Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS on 16 February 2007 and was buried at Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS in February 2007.31387,31388

Services for Leroy D. Adams, 87, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Adams died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Tom and Jessie Skinner Adams. He lived in Lawrence for 46 years.

Mr. Adams served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was head of security at Hercules for 33 years before retiring. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.

He married Hilda Coffey on April 20, 1949, in Fort Scott. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Connie Mock, Springfield, Mo.; and two grandsons, Devon DeShazo and Dustin Smith.

A daughter, Judy Ann Smith, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
