Success Story

Harold F. Coffey, 64-year-old president of Kent-Coffey Manufacturing Co., and head of other Lenoir furniture firms, has been chosen as one of 10 persons to receive American Success Story Awards.

The awards are given by the Free Enterprise Awards Association to point out "success possible under America's free enterprise democracy."

From the age of 9, Coffey has been associated with the furniture business, starting with his father. Under his direction, Kent-Coffey has grown from a shop employing 50 to a 13-acre plant with multi-million world-wide sales.

Harold Finley Coffey and Annie Mae Neely were married. They appeared in the census on 14 April 1940 at Lenoir Twp. in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC.32345 Annie Mae Neely, daughter of John Bishop Neely and Susan Margaret Matthews, was born on 18 August 1892 in Rock Hill, York Co., SC.32346 Annie died at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Caldwell Co., NC on 12 December 1976 of severe bronchial asthma and was buried at Bellview Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 15 December 1976 .32347,32348,32349
