Coffey died on 4 February 1958 at the age of 70 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH and was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, Independent City, VA on 7 February 1958.14941

ROCKFISH VALLEY-The Rev. Leonard N. Coffey, 70, a Disciples of Christ minister, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, after a long illness. At the time of his death, he was pastor of the North Side Christian Church, Cincinnati.

Mr. Coffey was born on Tye River, Nelson County, March 3, 1887, and lived in the county until early manhood. He was the oldest child of the late Rev. H. D. Coffey and Mrs. Lydia Campbell Coffey. He was educated at Lynchburg College, Washington and Lee University and attended Auburn Theological Seminary, Auburn, N. Y.

Mr. Coffey was ordained to the ministry in Euclid Avenue Christian Church, Lynchburg. Before going to Cincinnati some years ago, he had held pastorates in Auburn, N. Y., Athens, W. Va., and other places.

Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Minnie McGann [sic] of Buena Vista; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Robb of Nashville, Tenn., one son, Jack Coffey of New York; three brothers, Clyde E. Coffey, Norfolk, Shelby H. Coffey, Lynchburg, and Raymond Coffey, Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Walter Hoy Leake, Chatham; also several grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday (Feb. 7) at 2 p.m. in the memorial chapel of the Whitten Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial was in the family plot in Spring Hill Cemetery Lynchburg.

Leonard Newton Coffey and Minnie Ethel Magann were married on 27 December 1911 in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA.14942 They14942 appeared in the census on 2 April 1920 in Campbell Co., VA.14943 They14943 appeared in the census on 11 April 1930 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH.14944 Minnie Ethel Magann, daughter of Samuel D. Magann and Pinkey Eveline Andrew, was born on 10 December 1893 in Elon Dist., Amherst Co., VA. She lived with her parents in Elon, Amherst Co., VA on 28 June 1900. Minnie died in Virginia on 1 July 1985 and was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, Independent City, VA in July 1985 .14945
