Patsy Jane Vardaman and Richard Nightingale Portman were married on 4 January 1858 in Kentucky. Richard Nightingale Portman was born in 1822 in Kentucky. Richard died in 1886 at the age of 64 in Collin Co., TX and was buried at Highland Cemetery in Melissa, Collin Co., TX.¹²⁶⁶²
