Coffey

Coy Eugene Coffey lost his battle with cancer on April 10, 2010. He was born in Erick, Oklahoma to Amos Clyde and Vera Coffey on June 27, 1934. Coy grew up in Sweetwater, OK. and spent much of his younger years working at the family owned Texaco Station. It was in his youth he developed an appreciation for automobiles, driving, and travel. This passion would last a lifetime. He graduated from Sweetwater High School and attended Southwestern University and the University of Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force from 1953-1957. He retired from OG&E after many years of service. He enjoyed being able to take off for unknown destinations and drive for hours. He appreciated a good meal and loved Nascar-anything to do with cars and driving! He is survived by his sister, Wanda Simmons and husband Darrell of Panhandle, TX; his daughter, Belva Croslin and husband Nathan of Moore, OK; his grandsons, Cody Croslin of Santa Paula, CA and Collin Croslin of Moore, OK; and his son Lonnie Coffey of Del City, OK.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the "angels" at Carter Hospice for their care and concern, to Chaplain Danny Daniels for his encouragement and support and to the staff of the Meadowlake Estates Nursing Home for their care. A special thanks goes to Tina Morton for her strength and dedication.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, Del City, OK. Interment will be at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest, City, OK.
