H. Wilson Coffey

H. Wilson Coffey, 83, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Franklin, and a longtime resident of Greensboro, died in St. Petersburg June 4.

Memorial service will be held in Greensboro at a later date.

Coffey was a native of Watauga County, a Lutheran and a World War II veteran who served eight years in the Navy. He was also a Mason in Corinthian Lodge 542 and Shriners Oasis Temple of Greensboro.

Survivors are wife, Jane Morrow Coffey; daughters Mrs. Betty Ladd of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Marian Hensley of Dallas, Texas; sister, Mrs. Virginia Burgess of Blowing Rock; five grandchildren.

Horace Wilson Coffey and Gertrude Margaret Brewer were married on 7 August 1935 in Winchester (Independent City), VA.44704 Gertrude Margaret Brewer, daughter of Arthur Lee Brewer and Della E. Orndorff, was born in 1914 in Mount Williams, Frederick Co., VA. Gertrude died at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 26 October 1965 and was buried at Lake View Memorial Park in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 28 October 1965 .44705,44706

Mrs. Coffey Is Dead At 51

Mrs. H. Wilson Coffey, 52, of 1709 Grove St., died Tuesday morning at Wesley Long Hospital where she had been a patient since April.

She was the owner and manager of Coffey Beauty Shop and was a native of Winchester, Va. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hanes-Lineberry Chapel. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Surviving are he husband; her father, Arthur Lee Brewer, of Mount Williams, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Love Whitlock of Greensboro and Mrs. Pearl Curl of Winchester; brothers, James Brewer of Mount Williams; Howard Brewer and Boyd Brewer, both of Winchester.
