There was a Riley Coffey on page 40 in the 1840 census of Russell Co., KY.

On Mar. 21, 1850 a Riley Coffey married Tabitha Jane Everman.

The 1880 census for Logan Co., AR contained an entry for Riley Coffey, son of E, or D, or O Coffee, born Texas. Head of household was age 58, born MO, and there were four children in the family including Riley, and James Coffee, a step-son named J. Hartley, and a step-daughter, S. J. Hartley.

A Criminal Defendant Case File found in the Fort Smith Criminal Court Cases, National Archives, SW Region, Fort Worth, TX lists a Riley Coffee, defendant in a "liquor" case; jacket no. 287. (Probably caught bootlegging!)

William Riley Coffey and Tabitha Jane Everman were married on 21 March 1850 in Monroe Co., IN.²³²⁰ They²³²⁰ appeared in the census on 19 September 1850 in Monroe Co., IN.²³²¹ Tabitha Jane Everman was born on 19 June 1827 in Monroe Co., IN. She appeared in the census on 16 August 1860 in Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN.²³²² She lived with her son-in-law William Matthew May in Bloomington, Bean Blossom Twp., Monroe Co., IN on 8 August 1870. Tabitha lived with her son-in-law William Matthew May in Bean Blossom Twp., Monroe Co., IN on 2 July 1880. She lived with her son-in-law William Matthew May in Bean Blossom Twp., Monroe Co., IN on 9 June 1900. Tabitha died on 25 February 1901 at the age of 73 in Monroe Co., IN and was buried at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN.^{2323,2324,2325}

In the 1860 Monroe Co., Richland Twp., IN census, there is a Tabitha Coffey, age 32, with children Eliza, age 9 and Mary E., age 4, both with Coffey surname. Tabitha was age 32, and may be the same as this Tabitha, daughter of Hiram. See page 86, Elletsville PO, dwelling 619, family 599. The same dwelling, family 598, is headed by J. F. Everman, his wife and children.
