James may not be part of the Reuben family. He was not mentioned in the estate papers of Reuben in Burke Co., NC.

James D. Coffey and Hannah Alloway Strange were married. They appeared in the census on 16 August 1860 in Monroe Co., IN.404

James, son of Reuben and Sarah (Sally) Scott Coffey, was born 23 Oct 1786, d. 17 Oct 1868 in Owen Co., IN. M. Hannah (b. 18 Feb 1790, d. 14 Dec 1871), moved to IN in 1834, first to Monroe and then to Owen Co. Their children were Archelaus, Sally, Abraham, Polly, Riley, John Davidson and Elvira Ann. Abraham Alloway Strange m. Mary A. MOORE and were parents of 12 children. One, Archelaus Alloway Strange m. Elizabeth Coffey; Susannah Alloway Strange m. William COFFEY. These children were siblings of Hannah Alloway Strange.

This family moved to Indiana in 1834, first to Monroe Co., then to Owen Co. Hannah Alloway Strange, daughter of Abraham Alloway Strange and Mary A. Moore, was born on 18 February 1790 in North Carolina. She lived with her son-in-law Anderson B. Mills in Spencer, Owen Co., IN on 4 August 1870. Hannah died in Indiana on 14 February 1871.
