9499. James Ellis Coffey was born on 19 May 1924 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA. James died on 24 April 1973 at the age of 48 at Kings' Daughters Hospital in Staunton, Independent City., VA and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.28890

James Ellis Coffey, age 48, of Rt. 2, Staunton was pronounced dead on arrival Tue. morning (April 24, 1973)at Kings Daughters Hospital.

He was born in Augusta County on May 19, 1924, a son of Mrs. Willie Bryant Coffey and the late Ellis Coffey.

He had been employed at DuPont since 1949.

Surviving, in addition to his mother who resides at Rt. 2, Staunton, are his wife, Mrs. Lee Humphreys Coffey; two sons: Richard Lynn Coffey of Maryland, and John Randolph Coffey at home; two daughters: Miss Tony Ellis Coffey and Miss Tracey Michael Coffey, both at home; a brother, Wayt King Coffey of Rt. 2, Staunton, VA, a sister, Mrs. Helen Earnest of Rt. 2, Staunton; and two granddaughters.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in Augusta Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. L. Eugene Jordan, pastor of the Olivet Presbyterian Church.

Active pallbearers will be fellow workers. 

James Ellis Coffey and Lee Humphreys were married. Lee Humphreys was born on 7 September 1926 in Virginia. Lee died and was buried at in April 1978 at the age of 51 in Virginia and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.28891

James Ellis Coffey and Lee Humphreys had the following children:
