Mr. Ray Gragg, age 66, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004

Mr. Ray Gragg, age 66, of Hwy 16, Millers Creek, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Millers Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Gore officiating. A graveside service was held Friday, May 28, at Whitnel First Baptist Church Cemetery, Connelly Springs Road, Lenoir, NC.

Mr. Gragg was born April 29, 1938, in Avery County to Sylvestor and Queen Coffey Gragg. He was retired from PYA-Monarch Foods of Charlotte and was a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and choir member.

A daughter, Janice LaRaye Gragg preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice “Jan” Black Gragg of the home; two sons, Leslie Gragg of Moravian Falls, NC, Kelly Gragg of Wilkesboro, NC; two sisters, Goldie Danner of Linville, NC, Mabel Hartley of Newberry, SC; three brothers, Hobert Gragg, Cecil Gragg both of Lenoir, NC, Russell Gragg of Hickory, NC and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wilkes, 1908 West Park Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or to Millers Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 559, Millers Creek, NC 28651.

Pallbearers were the deacons of Millers Creek Baptist Church.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
