-Ida Coffey Brydge, 83, widow of Oscar R. Brydge, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 21) in Waynesboro Community Hospital.

She was born May 1, 1903, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late John and Lucille Demastus Coffey.

Mrs. Brydge was a member of Lynside Mennonite Church.

Survivors include two stepsons, David Brydge of Stuarts Draft and Elwood Brydge of Williamsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Demastus of Love and Miss Madge Coffey of Lyndhurst; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Lynside Mennonite Church by the Rev. Herman Ropp and the Rev. Eldon Brydge. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

The casket will be open in the church one hour prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Hestel Lowery, Carlton Brydge, J. T. Ellinger, John Hailey, Conrad Willis and Robert Burkholder.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Coffey, Ernest Hiner, John Bradfield, Thomas Coffey, Joe Bridge, Jessie Bridge, Leonard Brydge, Eugene Everett and Ralph Martin.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home.

A funeral service for Oscar Robert Brydge, 72, of Route 1, Stuarts Draft, who died Wednesday in Waynesboro Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday.

The service will be held in Lynside Mennonite Church at Lyndhurst, conducted by the Rev. Truman H. Brunk, assisted by the Rev. Franklin Weaver and the Rev. Judson Baldwin. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Brydge was a member of the Lynside Mennonite Church. He was born in Augusta County on May 27, 1896, a son of the late Edward R. and Isabelle Henderson Brydge.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Coffey Brydge; and two sons by his marriage to Emma Maud Coffey who died on March 10, 1936, Elwood Brydge of Williamsburg and David Brydge of Stuarts Draft; five brothers, Silas W. Brydge, Paul R. Brydge, Vance R. Brydge, and Amos E. Brydge, all of Lyndhurst, and George T. Brydge of Staunton; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hailey and Mrs. Viola Tisdale, both of Stuarts Draft; Mrs. Edna Willis and Mrs. Lonie Bridge, both of Lyndhurst; and five grandchildren. A son Emory Robert Brydge preceded him in death on June 14, 1956.

Active pallbearers will be Leonard Brydge, Carlton Brydge, Grayson Tomlin, Conrad Willis, Rockwell Harris, John E. Hailey, Hershel Bridge and Reginald Bridge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Maupin, Burley Mays, Joe Harmon, Russell Thompson, Ralph Martin, Dr. John W. Forbes, III, Earl Henderson, Russell Shank, Enos Grove, Joseph K. Ellinger, Roy Kiser, John D. Martin, Robert Hartman, Donald McClure and William Howerton.

The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service.

Friends will be received at the Etter Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m.
