Nell Coffey Gragg Watson, 78, of 27 West Summit Ave., Granite Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1992, at the residence.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1913, in Avery County to the late Julious Coffey and Clearcy Adams Coffey. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leason O. Gragg; one son, Wilburn Ronda Sumter; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Watson was a retired textile employee and a member of Granite Falls Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Clenard A. Watson of Lenoir; one son, Dallas James Gragg of Hudson; five daughters, Iristine Benshears of Millers Creek, Bonnie Fowler and Wilma Bumgarner, both of Hudson, Judy Horne of Saluda, S.C. and Peggy Gragg of Granite Falls; 18 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Granite Falls Church of God with the Revs. James Black and D. J. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Mackie-High Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

HICKORY - Peggy Dare Gragg, 61, of Hudson, died Nov. 2, 2005, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley.

Born Sept. 26, 1944, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Leason Obadiah Gragg and Nell Elizabeth Coffey Gragg.

She worked in the furniture industry. Her hobbies included ceramics and oil painting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, R.H. Sumpter; and a sister, Wilma Bumgarner.

Survivors include a son, William (Bill) Madron of Saluda, S.C.; two daughters, Jo-Nell Madron Ward of Hickory and Stefanie Kessler Eckard of Granite Falls; a brother, Dallas James Gragg of Hudson; three sisters, Iristine Beshears of Starr, S.C., Bonnie Fowler of Granite Falls and Judy Horne of Saluda, S.C.; a grandson, Cody Wayne Eckard of Granite Falls; and a granddaughter, Macey Marie Eckard of Granite Falls.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Warren Bumgarner at 7:30 tonight, Thursday, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight, Thursday.

Wilma Bumgarner, 49, of 4024 Clyde Drive, Hudson, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 1995, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

She was born June 26, 1936 [sic] [1946] in Catawba County to the late Leason and Neil [sic] [Nell] Coffey Gragg.

Mrs. Bumgarner was a the owner and operator of Nanna's Place Day Care.

Survivors include her husband, Lanny M. Bumgarner of the home; two sons, Wesley Bumgarner of Hudson and Warren Bumgarner of Granite Falls; one daughter, Wendy Bumgarner of the home; one brother, Jimmy Dallas Gragg of Sawmills; four sisters, Iris Teen Besears and Bonnie Fowler, of Lenoir, and Peggy Gragg and Judy Gragg Horne of Saluda, S.C.; and two granddaughters.

The funeral is Saturday at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Granite Falls.
