2006. Julius Calvin Coffey was born on 5 July 1855 in Globe Twp., Caldwell Co., NC. He lived with his parents in Johns River Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 21 July 1860. He lived with his widowed mother in Globe Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 14 June 1880.

The census indicates that Julius was married however, a wife for him was not enumerated. Julius died (probably) of a stomach ulcer on 9 November 1936 at the age of 81 at home in Gragg, Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC and was buried at Home cemetery in Gragg, Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC.^7679,7680

Julius Calvin Coffey and Eugenia Lavania "Genie" Dellinger were married on 15 May 1878 in Globe Twp., Caldwell Co., NC.⁷⁶⁸¹

Two additional children are said to have been born to this family; one died at birth with Lavinia. Eugenia Lavania "Genie" Dellinger, daughter of Reuben Dellinger and Mary Jane Coffey, was born in 1857 in North Carolina.

This child was missing in the 1860 census. Eugenia died in 1897 at the age of 40 in North Carolina and was buried at Cary Flat Cemetery in Gragg, Avery Co., NC.^7682,7683

Mrs. Clearcy Coffey

Lenoir, May 23--Mrs. Clearcy Adams Coffey, 75, died Wednesday afternoon at a rest home at Granite Falls. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God at Rhodhiss. Burial will be at Boone Fork near Blowing Rock. Mrs. Coffey was born in Watauga County. Surviving are two daughters, two sons, and 23 grandchildren.
