Kenneth Coffey

Kenneth A. Coffey, 47, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, in a Cleveland County Hospital.

Coffey, formerly of Watauga County, was a resident of Glendale, Calif. He was the son of Edna Story Coffey and the late Wiley Earl Coffey of Cherryville. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Korean conflict and a buyer for the Blue Cross, Blue Shield Insurance Company.

He is survived by one son, Michael Kenneth Coffey of the home; two brothers, the Rev. Dean Coffey of Casar, Wiley E. Coffey, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.

Services were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel in Fallston. Burial followed in Plains View Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Randall Runion and the Rev. Joe Edwards officiated.

The Stamey Funeral Home of Fallston was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Asher was married three times but had only one child, he by the third wife, Jackie McCoy.
