Betty Moore

Betty Lou Campbell Moore, 69, a resident of Rosewood Assisted Living of Harmony, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, following an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Alexander County to the late Lex Campbell and Zelma Coffey Campbell. She had worked in the furniture industry as a sander and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include daughter, Betty Hargraves and husband, James, of Statesville; sons, David Moore of Statesville, Paul Moore and girlfriend, Rhonda, of Advance; sisters, Reba Myers of Salisbury, Nancy Dishmon and Nellie Anderson, both of Statesville, Margaret Anderson of Harmony and Judy Ann Munday of Taylorsville; brothers, Junior Campbell of Harmony, Jackie Campbell of Stony Point, Marshall Campbell of Salisbury and Gary Campbell, of Kannapolis, and Everette Campbell of Statesville; five grandchildren, James Donald Moore and Edward Wentin Moore, both of Statesville, and Tiffany Rochelle Moore, Shawana Louise Moore and Felicia Nicole Moore, all of Stony Point.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Adams Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bill Smith. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Adams Funeral 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625.

Mr. Gary Lee Campbell

KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Gary Lee Campbell, 57, of 7936 Nevada Place, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC following a period of declining health.

The memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Kannapolis, with the Rev. James Pauley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

Mr. Campbell was born Nov. 25, 1947, in Alexander County, N.C., the son of the late Lex Gordon Campbell and Zelma Coffe Campbell.

He had been a resident of Kannapolis for 30 years. Mr. Campbell was employed in the warehouse of Saia Motor Freight in Charlotte. He was a member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was educated in the Alexander County Schools. Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Debra "Deb" Newman Campbell; daughters, Teresa Campbell and Shannon Lee Campbell Artz; granddaughters, Bethany Lane Artz and Brookelyn Lee Artz; brothers, Jack Campbell of Hiddenite, N.C., Marshall Campbell of Kannapolis, Everette Campbell of Statesville, and Junior Campbell of Harmony; sisters Nancy Dishman of Statesville, Junie Munday of Taylorsville, Margaret Anderson of Harmony and Janie Campbell of Salisbury; 84 nephews and 66 nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NorthEast Medical Center Foundation, 920 Church St. N, Concord, NC 28025 or to Faith Freewill Baptist Church, 904 Chipola St., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
