Cleo Coffey

Cleo Miller Coffey, 89, of Majestic Oak Dr, Charlotte, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1914 in Avery County to the late Rannie Miller and Sally Radford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a spouse, Benson F. Coffey; a son, Jimmy Coffey; two daughters, Patricia Gragg and Miriam Cornett and two sisters.

Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and member of New Hopewell Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Dieringer, Carolyn C. Nash and Jackie Davidson, all of Charlotte; three sisters, Ellen Shirley of California, Maxine Greer of Johnson City, Tenn., and Geneva Von Cannon of Banner Elk; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. at Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating. Burial will be at New Hopewell Baptist Church in Cary's Flat.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 4, 10 to 11 a.m. at Pendry's Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Henry Nash, Doug Plyler, Julian Davidson, Jeff Nash, Steven Davison, Ben Austin and Toby Rash.

Memorials may be made to New Hopewell Baptist Church, Cary's Flat, or to the charity of one's choice.

Pendry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
