Patrick Edison Grant, 60, of 96 Antrim Road, died Sunday (Feb. 3, 2002) at the University of VA Medical Center. He was born Nov. 27, 1941 at Staunton, a son of Edison Massie and Mildred Louise Higgs Grant. He was raised in Waynesboro by his grandparents, Raymond S. and Addie C. Higgs.

He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, where he pitched for
the Little Giants baseball team. He retired as a master cabinetmaker
from Klann Inc. after 35 years of service. He enjoyed his horse and
wood working, and he loved his dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Grant; two daughters, Sherri L. and Dana R. Grant of Waynesboro; a son, Patrick E. Grant II of Santa Barbara, Calif; his father-in-law, Wilson W. Coffey; his step-mother, Ruby Grant; his half-sister, Debbie Pugh of Albemarle County; two half-brothers, Gary Key of Waynesboro and Gary Grant of Mint Spring; an aunt, Jean Royer; an uncle and aunt, James and Doris Goddard; a special uncle, R. Jack Higgs; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul A. Coffey and his wife, Molly; Clarence Coffey and his wife, Margie; and Herman Harris and his wife, Kathleen; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McDow Funeral Home, with the
Rev. John Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Augusta Memorial
Park. Pallbearers will be Earl Arnold; Bruce, Mark and Tracey Coffey; Jay Locklear; Nicky Marion; Donnie Rexrode and Scott Wine.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Dana Renae Grant, 39, of 100 Country Lodge Road, Waynesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2006, at her home.

She was born November 1, 1966 in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Dana was a devoted teacher at Staunton City Schools for many years. She loved the out of doors, plants, animals, and all living things.

She was a devoted daughter, sister and granddaughter, loyal to her friends and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her devoted father, Patrick E. Grant in 2001; and her grandmother, Eva Virginia Coffey.

Survivors include her loving mother, Mary C. Grant; a sister, Sherri Lynn Grant; and a brother, Patrick E. Grant II, both of Santa Barbara, California; her loving grandfather, Woodrow Wilson Coffey; and her aunt, uncles and numerous cousins.

Also surviving are a special friend, Tony Rowzie; her beloved pet dogs, Ali, Mistic, Reo, Christian, and Tristin, and her many friends at work.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006, at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Bill Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at McDow Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Wilson Coffey in Fishersville.

WAYNESBORO — Patrick Edison Grant II, 43, of 100 Country Lodge Road, Waynesboro, went home to join his Heavenly family Friday, April 4, 2014.

He was born Oct. 14, 1970 in Waynesboro, son of Patrick Edison Grant and Mary Coffey Grant.

He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1988, Barton College, Wilson, N.C. in 1993 and East Carolina University in 1995 earning his teaching degree in special education.

Patrick extended his care for others by teaching and coaching many young adults with special needs at Devereux California.

His talented pitching career with Wilson Memorial, Barton College and Devereux baseball teams was a gift earned from his father.

He was an avid University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dana Renae Grant and grandfather, Wilson Coffey.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Mary Coffey Grant; sister, Sherri Lynn Grant; aunt, Kathleen Harris and her husband, Herman; uncle, Allen Coffey and his wife, Molly; numerous cousins; and his pet, faithful companion and best friend, "Tristian".

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at McDow Funeral Home.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Crossroads Baptist Church by Pastors Heath Spivey and Bill Johnson. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Stoney Wine, D.W. Cash, Zac Wells, Tracey Coffey, Dale Glass, Mark Coffey, Scott Wine and Wayne Huffman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Smith, Paul Kasemmongkol, Benny Higgs, Paul Bosnian, Cody and Hunter Campbell, Kenny Crawford, Jeff Coffey and Brian Landes.
