Woodrow Wilson Coffey, 90, of 1511 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his children.

He was born on May 9, 1916, in Love, Virginia, a son of the late Peter Hilman and Mary Tyree Coffey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva V. Coffey; his son-in-law, Patrick E. Grant; and one granddaughter, Dana R. Grant.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Allen Coffey and his wife, Molly, of Fishersville, Clarence A. Coffey and his wife, Margie, of Concord, North Carolina; two daughters, Mary Grant, and Kathleen Harris and her husband, Herman, both of Fishersville; grandchildren, Hope Coffey, Lynn Coffey, Loree Landes, Sherri Grant, Jeff Coffey, Terri Crawford, Bruce Coffey, Kim Marshall, Mark Coffey, Lesa Campbell, Tracey Coffey, Patrick Grant and Wendy Wine; great- grandchildren, Daven Adams, Brian Landes, Timmie Phillips, Ashley Crawford, Brittany Campbell, Krystal Landes, Cody Campbell, Nikki Marshall, Hunter Campbell, Whitney Marshall, Sierra Coffey, Tiffany Coffey, Jakob Coffey, Michael Coffey, Alexis Wine and Benjamin Coffey; and two great-great -grandchildren.

Mr. Coffey was the last surviving member of his family.

He owned and operated Coffey's Garage for 50 years. He loved working with his hands, whether in the garage or in his many flower gardens; roses were his favorite. Prior to Coffey's Garage, he was an orchard manager for Union Apple Company.

Wilson had an unbelievable love of life, family and most of all for God. He loved to share memories with family. He was a faithful follower of God. He began his journey with God when he was 14 years old. In 1965, he joined First Christian Church in Waynesboro where he served as an elder and a deacon. He also served as Chairman of the Congregation, Chairman of the Board, Chairman of Buildings and Grounds, and on the Board of Trustees. In later years, he attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Fishersville. Throughout his life, he loved serving the Lord.

A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Fishersville by Pastor Bill Johnson. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Coffey, Mark Coffey, Tracey Coffey, Edward Landes, Kenny Crawford, Kevin Marshall, Todd Campbell and Scott Wine.

Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro.

Woodrow Wilson Coffey and Eva Virginia Chittum were married on 20 December 1937 in Staunton, Independent City., VA.28565 They28565 appeared in the census on 15 April 1940 in South River Dist., Augusta Co., VA.28566 Eva Virginia Chittum, daughter of Stephen Thomas Chittum and Mary Bell Dunn, was born on 4 April 1917 in Rockcastle Co., KY. Eva died on 21 February 1965 at the age of 47 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.28567
