"Waynesboro - Funeral services for Peter Coffey, 78, who died at a Staunton hospital Monday, were held at 3 P.M. Wednesday at Mountain Top Church near Love, Nelson County. Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie Coffey; four sons, Bernard, Alvin, Dewey, and Wilson Coffey; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Coffey and Mrs. Wilson [sic] Coffey; two brothers, Joseph and Henry Coffey; and a sister, Sallie Coffey."

Mrs. Susie Mary Coffey, 78, died at her home in Fishersville, yesterday at 12:45 p.m.

She was born Aug. 6, 1871, in Nelson County, daughter of the late John and Mary Lowe Tyree. She was a widow of Peter Coffey who died in July 1942, and was a member of the Waynesboro Christian Church.
She is survived by four sons, Alvin, Bernard, Dewey, and Wilson; two daughters, Mrs. Jake Coffey and Mrs. Andrew Coffey, all of Fishersville; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Campbell and Mrs. Kate Humphries, both of Staunton; one brother, William Tyree, Stuarts Draft; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the residence where it will remain until the hour of service.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Waynesboro Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Stafford E. Davis with interment in the Calvary Church Cemetery at Stuarts Draft.
Pallbearers will be W. M. Mason, E. C. Riddle, N. W. Cash, Clarence Monroe, E. M. Mantiply and Leo Chittum.
