Dallas died of chronic lung disease on 23 March 1969 at the age of 64 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Globe Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 25 March 1969.46213

John Franklin Crump, age 85, of Dallas Street, Lenoir, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his residence.  He was born October 27, 1933 in Stephenson County, West Virginia to the late Dallas R. and Pearl Coffey Crump. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard J. Crump; and sisters, Ruth Church, Earlene Hicks, Helma Prestwood, Myrtle Hicks, Zada Adkins and Marie Keener.

Mr. Crump was co-owner and operator of Crump’s Paving for over 30 years and was a member of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church.  He loved Jesus and was a lost sinner saved by grace.  He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. 

Survivors include his wife Coma Eggers Crump of the home; four sons, Douglas A. Crump, Ricky C. Crump, Bruce H. Crump, all of Lenoir and Bradley M. Crump of Taylorsville; one daughter, Patty A. Hatley of Hudson; one brother, Dallas “Wayne” Crump of Lenoir; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Heavenly Hope Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Benny Greene, Preacher Jerry Yount and Preacher Bruce Crump.  Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Crump, Isaiah Ramsey, Dale Ramsey, Brandon Crump, Dustin Bartolo, Darick Crump and Ronnie Eldreth.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, North Carolina 28645

Marie Crump Keener, age 65, of Paradise Place, Lenoir, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Valdese General Hospital. She was born July 6, 1942 in Caldwell County to the late Dallas and Pearl Coffey Crump. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Crump and two sisters, Earlene Hicks and Zada Adkins. Mrs. Keener was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Ray Keener of the home; three sons, Timothy Ray Keener and wife Ella and Larry Allan Keener all of Lenoir and Randall Eric Keener and wife, Christy of Gamewell; a daughter, Mrs. Tina Philyaw and husband Jeff of Lenoir; two brothers, Rev. John Crump and Wayne Crump, both of Lenoir; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Church, Mrs. Helma Prestwood and Mrs. Myrtle Hicks all of Lenoir; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. John Crump and Rev. Bruce Crump. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
