8563. Hettie May Coffey was born on 25 January 1891 in Scott Co., TN. Hettie died in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 3 August 1981 and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 5 August 1981 .²⁶⁷²⁸

Bettie [sic] Mae Coffey Flinchum, 90, of Rt. 2, Oneida, passed away Monday morning, August 3 1981, at the Scott County Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Minda Litton Coffey and was also preceded in death by four husbands: Dade Duncan, Russell Crabtree, Eldred S. Lipscomb, and Sherman L. Flinchum; one daughter, Eva Duncan; one son, Earl R. Crabtree; four sisters: Pearl Strunk, Mary Turner, Florence Trammell, and Eliza Foster; and four brothers: Jay Coffey, Joe Coffey, George Coffey, and Charlie Coffey.

Mrs. Flinchum joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in January of 1905 and had been a member of the church longer than any other member. She is survived by one daughter, Anna Smith of Rt. 2, Oneida; two sons: Odie Crabtree of Rt. 2, Oneida, and Eldred Lipscomb of Springfield, Ore.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Blevins officiating. Burial was in the Litton Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jack Crabtree, Ralph Coffey, Clyde Duncan, Earl Phillips, Phillip Smith, and Tommy Wright.

West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A living couple was married in 1918 in Scott Co., TN.²⁶⁷²⁹ Living (private).

Hettie May Coffey and Dade M. Duncan were married. Dade M. Duncan was born on 30 May 1880. Dade died in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 22 September 1917 of localized peritonitis and acute uremia and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 22 September 1917 .^26730,26731

Hettie May Coffey and Eldred Simpkins Lipscomb were married on 12 April 1924 in Scott Co., TN.²⁶⁷³² Eldred Simpkins Lipscomb, son of James Nathan Lipscomb and Mary Amelia Simmons, was born on 22 March 1867 in Newberry, Newberry Co., SC. Eldred died in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 16 January 1941 and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN in January 1941 .²⁶⁷³³

Hettie May Coffey and Sherman Lee Flinchum were married. Sherman Lee Flinchum, son of Ranklins R. Flinchum and Helen Vanover, was born on 23 March 1891 in Missouri. Sherman died at Scott County Nursing Home in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 17 October 1977 and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 20 October 1977 .^26736,26737

--age 86 of Oneida, passed away Monday at the Scott County Nursing Home. A member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Hettie Mae Coffey Flinchum of Oneida; son, Carl Flinchum of KY.; step-daughter, Mrs. Anna E. Smith of Oneida; 3 step-sons, Odie Crabrree, Oneida, Earl Crabtree of San Diego, Cal, Eldred Lipscomb of Springfield, Ore; several step-grandchildren. Funeral services 2:00 pm Thursday at the Collins-Murley Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Roy Blevins officiating. Interment Litton Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:00 pm Wednesday at the Collins-Murley Mortuary in Oneida.
